Silk is a timelessly trendy natural fabric created by Silkworms, which make cocoons out of a material that people spin into fibers. Satin is a method of weaving fabric. Out of all the natural fibers, Silk Satin is the most valuable - an ultra-smooth silk that is gentle and delicate. It creates the most luxurious appearance, feels rich, has a soft touch, is glossy and glamorous!

Our Silk Satin Scarves are printed double-sided, creating an unmissable richness in depth of colour on both sides of the scarf. Our scarves use a quality grade silk of 14 momme. All scarf edges are hand-rolled.

MODAL 80% / SATIN SILK 20% Modal fabric is made by spinning cellulose that has been reconstituted from Beech Trees. The modal fabric is generally more delicate, soft, smooth, breathable and easy to care for. It has a great drape, a smooth lustrous finish that looks good, feels better and is natural as well. It is super-absorbent and resistant to shrinkage.

Our Modal / Silk Satin scarves use a quality grade fabric of 14 momme. All scarf edges are hand-rolled.

WHAT IS MOMME?

Momme often abbreviated as mm, is the weight of silk fabric. The higher the momme weight, the heavier the silk fabric. This means a greater amount of silk was used in the weaving process. A heavier momme weight of silk fabric is more durable in quality and will last you a longer time. Most silk fabrics are manufactured at 8 to 10 momme. Enjoy the beauty of silk.

PRINTING

At Lila and Me we do not mass produce. We order small print runs of our scarves on a required basis. Waste is kept minimal, one of the many key facets in our environmentally sustainable efforts. The environmental inks we use for printing do not contain heavy metals or other dangerous and toxic substances – certified by Kyocera, Intertek and OEKO-TEX® Standard 100. We utilize the latest digital printing technology to print our scarves and achieve colour fastness levels of 4.5 to 5 (SGS tests).

Colour fastness is the resistance of a fabric to change in its colour characteristics (fade) or shrink during constant washing and exposure to sunlight. The durability of the dyed fabrics is measured from 1 (greatest change) to 5 (no change).
